Every Girl Needs A BEST Friend

Everyone meet my best friend Val........... Just kidding here she is.....
Me and Val were introduced by my husband. Her and Jeremy have hunted together for years, so when me and Jeremy got married and hunting season rolled around she told him to invite me so that she would not be the only girl around.

Val is the God-mother to my child and me and her have been though so much together from peeing behind a bush on the side of the road, to me holding her hand when she found out that she had miscarried her first child. There have been times when things have been going so wrong that I just did not think that I could get through it and all I have to do is pick up the phone and call her and she knows just what to say!!!!
Val ask me to be the maid of honor in her wedding last year and I was so honored. We did everything together for that wedding from setting on my couch drawing up plans to standing up for her dreams the day before the wedding when it was raining and everyone had lost hope in the outdoor wedding.
I had to give a toast in her wedding and by the time I was done there was not a dry eye in the crowd, so I thought I would post it:
The first time I met Val she pissed me off. You see me and Jeremy had not been dating long and we had decided to go bowling, when all of a sudden I turn around and Jeremy is standing there talking to this beautiful girl. Little did I know that almost 7 years later that girl would love and trust me enough to ask me to be the made of honor in her wedding.
The first time I met Richard I never imagined we would be standing here today. Don't get me wrong he was a nice guy and all he is just not the type of guy that I pictured Val marring. I mean this is the girl that taught me how to take care of ten men at hunting camp while still managing to take care of myself, she is what women that taught me how to pee outside for crying out loud, she taught me how to make due in the woods with no running water for days at a time. So when I met Richard and he was somewhat of a "pretty boy" I thought this was just a phase, he will never make it thought the first hunting season.
Well here we are and Richard is fixing to enter his 4th hunting season with Val and I could not picture her with anyone else. I have watched them grow from friends that worked together, to a couple that I did not believe in, to a love that is so strong you can feel it when you walk in the room.
So Val and Richard here is to yall, may your wedding be one of your dreams and your marriage be one that most dream of!!!!!!
The wedding went beautifully the rain quite and she got the outdoor wedding that we had dreamed of.

So needless to say I think that every girl should have a Val, someone that you can tell ANYTHING and you know it is safe with her, one that will hold your had when you get bad news and laugh until it hurts with, one that is different than a sister, and more than a friend but yet both all rolled up into someone that you love.

Love you girl!!!!!!

Zach

Most likely if you are reading my blog you know my sister Jennifer and her son Zach.
Well for the past couple of years I have been keeping Zach for a couple days a month while Jennifer works or goes to school.
Today Zach reminded me of something that I can tend to forget from time to time. The precious mind of a 3 year old is so innocent and if we as adults could take ourselves back to that mind set every now and then, the world would be a much better place to live in.

You see today I was cooking lunch for the boys when all of a sudden my stove eye catches on fire. And if any of you know me, you know I was freaking out!!!!! I called my husband because I did not know if I should pour water on it or not, in case it was electrical. To be an ER employee you would think that I could handle situations better than that but I guess not!!!!!
So anyway I got the fire out, but my heart was still racing these images of what could of happened were still going through my head and my adrenalin had me by the throat!!!

When all of a sudden Zach looks at me starts clapping his hands and yelling "yeah tatee, fire gone!!!"That precious little boy was not thinkings about what could of happened or the fact that the situation could of been alot worse, he was not concerned about the "WHAT IF'S." All he knew was that he was so happy that the fire was gone and that was all that mattered!!!
So thank you Zach for reminding me that some good comes out of all situations.

My Better Half

Meet my husband, Jeremy Messer. I thought I would tell you a story about how I met my husband.

I guess that you can say that when I was a teenager I was a little bit of a rebel. At least that is what my mom would tell you since I almost drove her over the deep end with worry!!! Little did my mother or me for that matter know that the very thing that she kept telling me was going to get me in trouble and leave her setting in the nut house would be the very thing that made me run into the love of my life. You see when I was a teenager I thought that I was indestructible, staying out all hours of the night with different people, not ever getting in trouble (or at least never getting caught) but I thought that the world owed me something and that I was in charge.

So one of the many nights that I went out cruising Patton, which was this strip in Asheville where people use to go ride around in circles looking for parties, friends, and a good time. Well that night I did not run into anyone that I knew and I had a boyfriend that was at work so me and my friend just decided to go home. We went through Wendy's and got a frosty and hit the interstate. Well all of a sudden there was this big black truck that pulled up beside of us and my friends says "hey there's those guys off of Patton catch them." So here I go in my little 4 cylinder cavalier chasing a v8 truck of some sort. Needless to say I caught up with them honked the horn a couple times waved and went on about my business. Well a few yards later that truck catches back up to me and the passinger is hanging out the window screaming "what did you want" so I motioned for them to follow me. They followed me to the next exit where we stopped at a gas station and talked till 2 in the morning.

The next day was Saturday and I had tried all day to get ahold of Jeremy but failed until I had finally given up and went out with my boyfriend to eat. We barley get set down at the table and my phone rings. Well it was Jeremy and he tells me that he had been hunting all day and that he was sorry that he missed my calls. He then ask me if I wanted to get together the next day for a double date and of course I agreed.

So the next day I was waiting on him to call and after about 1 I decided that he was going to stand me up so what did I do I proceeded on to Ryans in Asheville with my boyfriend and what happens Jeremy calls right in the middle of the lunch so I told my boyfriend that I needed to get home and cut the lunch date short.
Needless to say I fell in love with Jeremy the moment that I laid eyes on him. I had told my friend the night that we met them on the interstate when he stepped out of the truck that I would marry him one day.

Eleven months later we were married and now almost 7 years later we are still together and stronger than ever he is the love of my life. And if I had not been on what I like to call "an adventurous spree" I probably would have never had the guts to meet someone on the interstate!!!
So sorry for driving you crazy mom but I don't regret it that's for sure!!!!!!

I Want To Be Like You Dad

This is my little angel (depending on what day of the week it is) Avery. Avery loves to do things that all little boys do especially if his daddy does it!!!!

(wearing daddy's shoes)
Avery thinks the sun rises and sets on his daddy's shoulders. He is all boy, he has is daddy's big blue eyes that can make me melt in just a flash.

Every time that Jeremy would go out to get on the tractor it was such a fiasco trying to get Avery to understand that there were some things that daddy just could not do with Avery around. So we went out and bought Avery his very own tractor so when daddy gets on the tractor Avery does too.

Avery "scraped the drive" for as long as his daddy did just look at that tractor. And he thought that he as really doing something, we were all having a good time.
And just like his daddy sometimes Avery can be a little bullheaded!!!!! Just like tonight we got done outside and it was time to come in. Well Avery did not think so!!!!!! We took his coat and snow suit off and you would of thought that we broke his legs because all of a sudden he was on his knees in the floor screaming at the top of his lungs. He jumps up grabs his gloves and runs to the door where he spends the next 10 mins screaming and beating on the door. The rest of the night Avery would bring us one item of clothing at a time till all of a sudden here he was back in his boots, toboggan, gloves and he had figured out how to put his own coat on and he was back at the door acting like it was time to go back outside!!!! Told you that he likes to act like his daddy (LOL).
Well around 9:30 it was time to try and put this baby to bed. He was not happy about this, I had to go in there trice and take a coat off of him that he had found in his closet and tell him that he was not going back outside. I guess he thought that if he got dressed that we would think it was time to go outside i don't know what his little brain was telling him but it sure was not telling him to give up!!!!
Well 2 coats later, multiple times laying him back down, a few scream and alot of tears Avery, Daddy, Mommy and a toy chainsaw found themselves all in the same bed waiting on a 2 year old to fall asleep. Needless to say he gave it up at 11:30.
Just a few more pick of Avery and his daddy.

This little boy is my life, I love him more than I knew that I could love.
Thank you God for my blessings and my family!!!!

Funny Storie

So this is my second posting and I thought that I would just go ahead and start with a funny story.

My sons name is Avery witch you will be hearing alot about! And well Avery has this fear of poop. So the other day he is in the bathtub and he gets the urge to pee, and of course, being that he is 2 he just lets her rip right there is the bathtub. O.K. we have all peed in the tub don't judge. (lol) Well all of a sudden he starts to sway his hips back and froth causing the urine to.....well I will leave that to your imagination. He thinks this is hilarious so when he runs out of urine he strains and strains till all of a sudden he drops a few brownies off at the playground, well really I guess it was the big swimming pool. So being the mean mother that I am, I pointed this out to him. Avery states oh no poop poop shooie. So being the nice mother that I am I take a cup and scoop the poop out and go to put it in the toilet. Well being the mean mother that I am, I decided to show it to him one last time...When I moved that cup with the poop in it near my 2 year old he screams at the top of his lungs, jumps out of the tub and tries to run through the house. Well I don't know if any of you have ever tried to run on hardwood floors with wet feet but it didn't work out to well for Avery.

Poor kid hit the floor and slide across my den!!!!!!! I don't know what made the poop scary in the cup but not in the tub???? Whatever????

Hope you got a laugh, and were not to grossed out but if you have a kid you have some gross stories of your own!!!

By the way my spelling and grammar is horrible so I will just go ahead and blame that on Pisgah High School hahahaha I bet you thought I was going to apologize!!!!!!
